Number of airport passengers falls 63pct y-on-y in May - Macau Business

The number of passengers reported by the local airport has fallen by 63 per cent year-on-year in the first five months of this year, Macau International Airport Co. Ltd. told Macau News Agency.

Last month there were flight routes operating to nine destinations including Xiamen, Nanning, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Tokyo, Osaka and Manila.

According to CAM flight routes in June will be mainly operated by Air Macau, plus the Taipei route operated by EVA Air and Starlux Airlines.

Air Macau will also operate a flight to Taipei in June, plus flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Dongmen, Nanning, Jieyang Chaoshan, Xiamen, and Hangzhou.

Previously airport authorities indicated that passenger flows and cargo volume of Macau International Airport in the first quarter of 2020 had dropped by 50 per cent and 25 per cent respectively year-on-year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
