Qantas gives free Qantas Club membership extensions through to 2021 - Executive Traveller

Qantas is adding six months to the membership of Qantas Club members, as many of its airport lounges remain closed – along with state borders – with no prospect of overseas flights until 2021.

The extension applies to All Qantas Club memberships valid as of September 23 2020, and is the second six-month booster rolled out since the coronavirus pandemic decimated domestic and international travel.

“We understand your travel plans may have been impacted this year, and it continues to be a challenging time for everyone, so we are giving eligible Qantas Club members extended access to all membership benefits for another six months,” the airline says.

“There’s no need to register or contact our call centre, your Qantas Club membership will be automatically extended by the end of September 2020 and you can view your updated details by visiting My Account at or the Qantas App.”

However, as Qantas won’t be issuing new membership cards to reflect the revised use-by date, it’s recommended that travellers download the Qantas App, which now includes a ‘digital card’ which can be used for airport lounge access.

In addition , “if you have purchased an Annual Guest Card, this will also be extended for a further six months. If the Annual Guest Card membership year ends between September 2020 and August 2021, your existing guest card can be used to gain entry to the lounge for the additional six months.”

Executive Traveller has contacted Qantas to determine if a similar six-month extension will also apply to the complimentary single-use lounge passes issued to Qantas credit card holders and Silver-grade frequent flyers.
